Chapter 13
13And—he—stood—upon—the—sand—of—the—sea.—And—I—saw—a—beast—ascend—out—of—the—sea,—having—ten—horns—and—seven—heads,—and—ten—diadems—upon—his—horns,—and—upon—his—heads—the—names—of—blasphemy.—
2And—the—beast—which—I—saw—was—like—a—leopard,—and—his—feet—were—as—the—feet—of—a—bear,—and—his—mouth—as—the—mouth—of—a—lion:—and—the—dragon—gave—him—his—might,—and—his—throne,—and—great—power.—
3And—one—of—his—heads—as—if—slain—to—death—and—his—deadly—plague—was—healed:—and—all—the—earth—wondered—afterᵒ—the—beast.—
4And—they—worshipped—the—dragon—which—gave—the—power—unto—the—beast:—and—they—worshipped—the—beast,—saying,—Who—is—like—the—beast?—Who—is—able—to—make—war—with—him?—
5And—there—was—given—unto—him—a—mouth—speaking—great—things—and—blasphemies;—and—power—was—given—unto—him—to—act—forty—and—two—months.—
6And—he—opened—his—mouth—in—blasphemy—against—God,—to—blaspheme—his—name,—and—his—tabernacle,—[and]—those—who—tabernacle—in—heaven.—
7And—it—was—given—unto—him—to—make—war—with—the—saintsⁱ,—and—to—overcome—them:—and—power—was—given—him—over—every—tribe,—and—people,—and—tongue,—and—nation.—
8And—all—who—dwell—upon—the—earth—shall—worship—him,—whose—name—is—not—written—in—the—book—of—life—of—the—Lamb—slain—from—the—foundation—of—the—world.—
9If—any—man—has—an—ear,—let—him—hear.—
10He—who—is—led—into—captivity—shall—go—into—captivity:—he—who—is—killed—with—the—short-sword—must—be—killed—with—the—short-sword.—Here—is—the—patience—and—the—faith—of—the—saintsⁱ.—
11And—I—saw—another—beast—ascend—out—of—the—earth;—and—he—had—two—horns—like—a—lamb,—and—he—spoke—as—a—dragon.—
12And—he—does—all—the—power—of—the—first—beast—before—him,—and—causes—the—earth—and—them—who—dwell—therein—to—worship—the—first—beast,—whose—deadly—plague—was—healed.—
13And—he—does—great—signs,—so—that—he—makes—fire—come—down—from—heaven—on—the—earth—in—the—sight—of—men,—
14And—deceives—those—who—dwell—on—the—earth—by—the—means—of—the—signs—which—it—was—given—him—to—do—in—the—sight—of—the—beast;—saying—to—those—who—dwell—on—the—earth,—that—they—should—make—an—image—to—the—beast,—who—had—the—plague—of—the—short-sword,—and—did—live.—
15And—it—was—given—him—to—give—spirit—unto—the—image—of—the—beast,—that—the—image—of—the—beast—should—both—speak,—and—cause—that—as—many—as—would—not—worship—the—image—of—the—beast—should—be—killed.—
16And—he—causes—all,—both—small—and—great,—rich—and—poor,—free—and—bond-servant,—that—there—be—given—them—a—mark—upon—their—right—hand,—or—upon—their—forehead:—
17And—that—none—should—be—able—to—buy—or—sell,—save—he—who—had—the—mark:—the—name—of—the—beast—or—the—number—of—his—name.—
18Here—is—the—wisdom.—Let—him—who—has—a—mind—calculate—the—number—of—the—beast:—for—it—is—the—number—of—a—man;—and—his—number—is—six—hundred—sixty—and—six.—
