8Andwhenhehadopenedtheseventhseal,therewassilenceinheavenaboutthespaceofhalfanhour.
2AndIsawthesevenmessengerswhostandbeforeGod;andtothemweregivenseventrumpets.
3Andanothermessengercameandstoodatthealtar,havingagoldencenser;andtherewasgivenuntohimmuchincense,sothatheshouldgiveituntotheprayersofallthesaintsⁱuponthegoldenaltarwhichwasbeforethethrone.
4Andthesmokeoftheincense,whichcamewiththeprayersofthesaintsⁱ,ascendedbeforeGodoutofthehandofthemessenger.
5Andthemessengertookthecenser,andfilleditwiththefireofthealtar,andcastittotheearth,andtherewerethunders,andvoices,andlightnings,andanearthquake.
6Andthesevenmessengerswhohadtheseventrumpetspreparedthemtoblow.
7[And]thefirstblew,andtherewashailandfiremingledwithblood,andtheywerecasttotheearth,andthethirdpartoftheearthwasburntup,andthethirdpartoftreeswasburntup,andallgreengrasswasburntup.
8Andthesecondmessengerblew,andasitwereagreatmountainburningwithfirewascastintothesea,andthethirdpartoftheseabecameblood;
9andthethirdpartofthecreatedthingswhichwereinthesea,andhadlivesᵖ,died;andthethirdpartoftheshipsweredestroyed.
10Andthethirdmessengerblew,andtherefellagreatstarfromheaven,burningasitwerealamp,anditfelluponthethirdpartoftheriversanduponthefountainsofwaters;
11andthenameofthestariscalledWormwood,andthethirdpartofthewatersbecamewormwood;andmanymendiedofthewaters,becausetheyweremadebitter.
12Andthefourthmessengerblew,andthethirdpartofthesunwasstruck,andthethirdpartofthemoon,andthethirdpartofthestars;soasthethirdpartofthemwasdarkened,andthedayshonenotforathirdpartofit,andthenightlikewise.
13AndIsawandheardaneagleflyingthroughmidheaven,sayingwithagreatvoice,“Woe,woe,woe,tothosewhodwellontheearthbyreasonoftherestʳofthevoicesofthetrumpetofthethreemessengers,whoareabouttoblow!”
